Thomas
J. Liston —
Tom leads
Humana Ventures and serves as the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development
of Humana Inc. Since joining Humana in 1995, Tom has held board seats
on several private health care companies, lead the integration of two
of Humana's largest acquisitions, and played key roles in business strategy
development and financial management. Tom has served as both Controller
and Vice President — Finance of Humana.
Prior to joining Humana,
Tom was a partner at Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P. (now Pricewaterhousecoopers
L.L.P.) where he primarily served health care and insurance industry clients.
Tom, a CPA, began his career at Coopers & Lybrand in 1983, upon his
graduation from the University of Kentucky with a B.S. in Accounting.
George
Emont — George has over 17 years of experience in the
healthcare industry. His career includes the successful start-up of a
biotechnology company and extensive venture capital investing in medical
device, biotechnology and healthcare services companies. George’s
investment interests include making strategic use of information, e-commerce
and telemedicine applications in the home care setting. George has a Bachelors
of Arts Degree from Oberlin College and an MBA from the University of
Chicago.
William
Stice — Bill joined Humana Inc. in 1986. His experience
at Humana includes corporate accounting systems, corporate reporting,
financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital. Bill
is a CPA, having spent nine years in public accounting with Coopers and
Lybrand and Alexander Grant and Company. Bill has an MBA from the University
of Louisville and a BBA from the University of Cincinnati.
Michael
Russman — Michael initially joined Humana as a member
of the Mergers & Acquisitions team. Prior to joining Humana, Michael
held senior financial management positions and consulted with several
entrepreneurial concerns after departing from Ernst & Young. Michael,
a CPA, earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and a
MBA from the University of Louisville.
Charles
W. Beckman — Charles brings
a unique blend of operations and strategic planning experience to the
Humana Ventures team. His experience includes planning and execution of
managed care network development and management strategies, strategy development
for Humana’s Specialty Products Division and International Development.
Charles has been with Humana since 1994. Charles has a Bachelor of Business
Administration from the University of Texas and an MBA from the University
of Louisville.
Dorothy
Sutherland — Dorothy serves
as Humana Ventures Administrative Assistant. Dorothy has been with Humana since
1999 and has experience within several of Humana’s strategic
functions. Dorothy will be happy to arrange a meeting with the Humana Ventures team.
